Beloved in the Lord, I welcome you to another episode of our weekly interaction in the word of God. How has your week been? Our text for the week is 1 Samuel 5:1-12. The topic is "There is God and there are gods"

According to the text, the Philistines captured the Ark of the Lord. The Ark was the symbol that signified the presence of God. God had to vindicate his people and glorified himself.

I request you take note of the following points, which are the strength of this message.

1. There is God and there are gods. Gen 17:8, Hosea 11:9

2. Like Politics, People are affiliated to either God or the gods. Joshua 24:15

3. Unlike Politics, there is no neutrality, you're either for God or against him (i.e for the gods)

4. I respect people of old because they don't "double date". But in this present time of ours, an Ifa Priest will attend Church on Sunday and a Pastor will attend a meeting on Monday at the Shrine.

5. In the contest for supremacy, the people fought in the Physical while God and the gods fought in the spiritual.

6. It was more of the Philistines than their god (Dagon), but more of God than the Israelite. 1 Kings 18: 16-38

7. When the Israelite were "defeated", God fought for them and the Philistines did not invade the Israelite territory again. The god of the Philistines (Dagon) could not defend his people against the the God of the Israelite. 1 Samuel 7:13

In conclusion brethern, abide in the Lord and be faithful, he wins always. Remain Blessed.
