You are welcome to today's Wednesday sermon on Celestial Church Blog. I pray that Jehovah will enrich your spiritual being greatly as you read in Jesus name.
Topic: Seek Righteousness, Seek Meekness.
Today's Text: Zephaniah 2: 1-11
Memory Verse: Zephaniah 2: 3
Zephaniah was one of the minor Prophet in the Bible. The Lord used him to admonish the people of Judah, during the reign of Josiah, the King of Judah (Son of Amon).
Josiah's grandfather and father respectively have done evil before God, and he had vowed to destroy the Kingdom of Judah and her inhabitants. (2 Kings 21:10-12)
However, Josiah choose to live by doing what was righteous before God.
Dear reader, you can choose to avoid the wrath of God, which is coming upon this generation, just like how Josiah did.
Although, many people thought that it is impossible to practice righteousness, but I want to say emphatically that righteousness is still practicable.
These were the steps taken by King Josiah, which made him righteous before God.
1. He desired to know God. (Act 8: 26-31)
2. He read the book of the law and his conscience was awakened. (Psalm 119:105, 2 Kings 22:11)
3. He inquired of the Lord and he was answered. (2 Kings 22:11-20, Psalm 51:17)
Summarily, Matthew 5: 5 & 10, gives hope to the meek and the righteous.
So brethren, choose not to walk in the evil way of your parents, Shepherd, Friends, Siblings etc, so that you may experience support from Jehovah all the time.
