In a post he released on his social media page on Facebook, the clergy stated that he learnt two great lessons while he was at the burial of the Reverend Paul Maforikan (the first Prophet in the Church).
Reverend Godwin Shonekan wrote:
"The first lesson was taken from the sermon preached by a respectable prophet of God, Baba Nunayan a man I respect and will always respect no matter what.
"The said lesson was confirmed by my dearest sister, Prophetess Edith Osofa in her tribute to the deceased that Papa Maforikan is Papa Osofa’s prophet and so stated prophetically during sermon by Venerable Most Superior Evangelist Jacob Nunayan in his narrative of how Papa Osofa had relied on the prophetic ability of Baba Maforikan during a missionary journey in the old Dahomey (now Republic of Benin), when they could not be sure of the right road to take and it was Baba Maforikan that Papa Osofa put into trans spiritually and through him (Baba Maforikan) God guided them to reach their destination by following the road he (Baba Maforikan) was directed by God to follow.
"This Baba Maforikan, a great Man of God, was used by God for God’s purposes till he could no more on the 9th of August, 2016.
"Then, the second lesson learned was how is it that we all Celestial Church of Christ Elders and Members alike missed it, that while this Man of God was with us we didn’t make the best use of his prophetic ability to resolve the leadership tussle that beseeched the great Church.
"That it was pointed out emphatically by our beloved sister, Prophetess Edith Osofa during her tribute to Baba Maforikan on that day of burial service that Baba Maforikan came to her and told her that Papa Osofa appeared to Baba Maforikan in a premonition that he (Baba Maforikan) and Alagba Emmanuel Oshoffa should remove themselves from contending the position of Pastor of Celestial Church of Christ and that Baba Maforikan went to Ketu and told same to Alagba Emmanuel Oshoffa and the Elders of the Church that are with him but they did not adhere to the call.
"If truly as all of us believed that Baba Maforikan is Papa Osofa’s Prophet that was confirmed by Venerable Most Superior Evangelist Jacob Nunayan and Prophetess Edith Osofa, then what went wrong within the fold that he was not listened to when alive."
