As both Federal and State government introduces measures aimed at curtailing the spread of the Corona Virus, such as the social distancing and reducing large gatherings in public places, the negative economic effect of these measures will mostly affect church workers in Celestial Church. This is due to stoppage of worship at parishes which inadvertently means no financial offertory for this period, where salaries of church workers are paid from.
Of all the circulars released by various factions in the church, such as Ketu, Nigeria Diocese, Reverend Owodunni’s faction, amongst others, non has announced any form of emergency food packages for its church workers, except the statement in a pastoral order by Reverend EMF Oshoffa for parishes to take care of prayer teams in selected parishes. This has been described as not good enough by members of the church in a discussion monitored on Facebook.

While reacting to the issue, Mope Omola Fiyinfoluwa, noted that it is unfair for church workers to be neglected during this period, “It's unfair they should make provisions for the shepherds that only depend on church offering,” she said.

A member Damilare David Akinsola, maintained that it is worrisome that no form of solidarity message has been sent to church workers by the various factional heads in order to boost their during this trying period. He however hoped that those in authority, would quickly act accordingly and come to the aid of the workers.

In making his opinion known, Michael Folorunsho opined that it will be worrisome to see Celestial Church workers queuing up at local government office in order to get relief food package provided by the government. He advised that factional heads in the church should immediately work on packages for every church worker and their families.
