1. Littering The Floor With Wraps of Biscuits, Sweets And Skin of Fruits.
The main auditorium and church vicinity of most parishes are always littered with the above mentioned items, especially after 'Ipese'. Rather than parishioners to dump these items into a waste bin, they would prefer to dump them on the floor.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness and we need to properly dispose these items, as this particular habit doesn't portray the church in good light.
2. Rush For Food Items.
This act is really troublesome and should not be seen in the midst of Christians. During a feast 'Ipese', it's common to see both young and old, climbing over themselves in other to outdo each other in the amount of goodies each individual get.
Although, in some instances our prophet(ess) would give a message that the items should be rushed, but we have to find a more civilized way to do this, because this act, goes against every tenets of love which the church preaches. Moreover, there are situations where many have sustained injuries during this struggle. Of what significant is the use of the 'Ipese' when some are having more than enough to eat, while others do not have?
3. Holding And Beating With Palm Frond During Service.
Although this habit is gradually phasing out, but it's still very common among smaller parishes. In some instances you would see a Sideman (Onigbode) holding a bunch of palm frond and hitting someone sleep or talking during service with it. This act is very demeaning and we need to be stopped.
There are many more habits which are peculiar to individual parishes, and it's very necessary for us to work assiduously in correcting this habits.
