Evangelist Oloyede Raphael
Halleluyah,

Welcome to this week's Wednesday sermon on CCB, may God abundant grace continue with you as you read through in Jesus name (amen).
Today topic: Avoid Distractions
Bible Lesson: Matthew 24: 35 - 44
Memory Verse: Matthew 24: 42
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Today, we shall be discussing a topic which many Christians are no longer interested in, especially Celestial members - The Second Coming of Jesus

Are you tried of hearing about his second coming, or are you one of those that says death end it all?

I want you to have a rethink. Jesus told his disciples not to get carried away by the enjoyment of this world. Let's consider some facts from Jesus teaching in today's Bible lesson:

A. In verse 35, Jesus made an emphatic statement, which indicates that whatsoever, the word of God would come to pass.

B. In verse 37 - 39, Jesus used the story of Noah as a case study to teach, as people were eating and drinking, while others were marrying and giving in marriage, thinking it's impossible that flood could destroy the entire earth.

If we diligently look at the two facts above, we would agree that our generation is behaving similar to Noah's generation, as we are been distracted by things around us which has badly affected our hope of His second coming. Such movies, music, life-style, fashion, career amongst others.

There are many DISTRACTIONS out there in our Churches, Offices, Schools, Home etc. Just like in the days of Noah. Some People are agents of distraction. Please don't dance to their tune. You must be more determined to make heaven, because determination alone is not enough.

Do you remember the story of the wise Virgins? (Matthew 25: 1-13) Be prepared, because it's going to be the survival of the fittest. (Matthew 24:44 CCC Hymn 620 Stanza 3)
