Special greetings to all Celestials whose parishes held their Adult Harvest Thanksgiving services last Sunday. To the rest, I pray that God would enrich us all in Jesus name (amen). You are welcome.
Bible Lesson: 1 John 1: 1-10
Memory Verse: 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
To be candid with you my dear readers, Confession is something easier said than done, but also, the candid truth is that you must confess your sins, transgressions or iniquities.
Many of us do pray for forgiveness, but we are not willing to confess the sins we have committed. Because of the sinful nature of man, we are liable to sin, although the Holy Spirit will subdue that. (1 Conrinthians 15:53)
Nonetheless, Confession shows that you are sorry for the error and that is what the Lord appreciates (Isaiah 1:18-19).
Although, some or even many so called Christians are walking about with a dead conscience, but for every conscience that is alive, failure to confess will cause you these things:
a. restlessness
b. distance/separation between you and the person you offended or God
c. you also lose some benefits
d. you will also want to cover up your sins/offense and in the process you will commit greater sins.
God message is clear to us, he does not want us to be sinners, but he understand us and that is why he proffered solution to us should in case we sin (1 John 2: 1-2).
Like I said earlier, praying for forgiving is good, but Confession will heal your health completely. Just like the story of the prodigal son as told by our Lord Jesus Christ.
He analyzed the situations and choose to go back to his father for Confession. Sincerely speaking, it is not easy to confess but it is better to confess rather than been caught in the mess.
The benefits of Confession are, but not limited to:
a. It's the first step to receive forgiveness
b. It gives you chance to start afresh
c. It frees you from bondage and psychological trauma
d. peace of mind.
Lastly for today, many people choose not to confess because they are afraid of ridicule and shame or probably harsh treatment they may likely face, but I advice you to take a courageous step today and save yourself of impending disgrace disaster ahead.
Surely you cannot keep that offense forever. The earlier you confess, the better for you and your future be it here on earth or in heaven to come.
Till we meet again next week, stay blessed. Evangelist Oloyede Raphael
