To God be the glory and adoration. You're welcome to my Weekly sermon on Celestial Church blog. The text for the week is 2 Corinthians 8 v 16 - 24. The topic is "Evangelism Compared".

Titus and two other brothers were sent to the Church in Corinth. According to the message of Apostle Paul, we can conclude that the brethren were sent to Corinth to further strengthen the Corinthians in the word of God and to hand over the gift items from the Church in Macedonia.

Evangelist and the entire Christian body need to study the approach to Evangelism as adopted by the poineer apostles of Jesus Christ with the motive of comparing it with the act of Evangelism in this present time. A careful observation will confirm a lot of differences in Evangelism then and now.

Below are some of the noticeable differences in Evangelism.

1. The apostles and evangelist then were sincerely more zealous about Evangelism than now.. 2 Cor. 8 v 22, v 16.

2. Like Jesus Christ, the poineer apostles always assist the people by providing for their needs after teaching them the world of God. This is not very popular in this present time rather many Churches and Pastors has turned cruade revival to money making ventures
They collect "reckless " offering and donations at sell "goods" at exorbitant prices. 2 Cor. 8v19.

3. The apostles practised Communalism and encouraged classless society (equality of all and sundry). Reverse is the case now. 2 Corinthians 8 v 13 - 15.

4. Discipleship was more pronounced. Mathew 11 v 29, 10 v 1.

5. Like Jesus, the apostles always caution and correct the people whenever they are not doing things right. Most Pastors now pretend not to see these errors in other to keep more people in their Church and make more money. Is like making heaven is now secondary to them.

6. The apostles were driven by their love and passion for the gospel and not calculated financial gains that is rampant now.

7. More importantly, the apostles operated in accordance with God's will and commandment as they spread the gospel. Unlike this present time that "herbalist " now put on suit and garment pretending to be working for God.

In conclusion brethren, the above stated differences account for the distinction between the achievement of the apostles and the "apostles "

Remain blessed in the Lord.
