Here are some facts about Reverend Paul Suru Maforikan 86, who died late on Tuesday night, you need to know.

1. Reverend Maforikan was born in Ajase, Benin Republic.

2. He was a member of Christ Apostolic Church before joining Celestial Church Of Christ in 1948 shortly after the Church formation.

3. He was the first ever prophet of the Church.

4. When S.B.J. Oschoffa left Benin Republic to Nigeria, Reverend Maforikan was one of the few members who followed the Founder to Nigeria.

5. Maforikan was the Oyo State Evangelist for 10 years before being appointed a Deputy Pastor in December 2002.

6. He was proclaimed Pastor of the Celestial Church Of Christ Worldwide in 2003 within two days of the death Reverend Gilbert Jesse.

7. In 2014, Maforikan appointed three deputy pastors, which are Beni Omoge as Deputy Pastor 1 in charge of Evangelism, Pascal Togbe as Deputy Pastor 2 in charge of Monitoring and Discipline and Nicholas Moullo as Deputy Pastor 3 to head the Ivory Coast Diocese.
