Celestians have always asked questions in regards to when will Celestial Church of Christ have a University of her own, like other Christian denominations in Nigeria, such as the Redeemers University of Nigeria, owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Convenant University owned by Winners Chapel and many alike.

Currently there are two parallel race among the two major factions in the Church in regards to this.

The Nigeria Diocese of the Church formerly under the leadership of Late Reverend Paul Maforikan has purchased a land which will serve the purpose of the birthing a tertiary institution for the Church. The clergy who took over from Reverend Maforikan, Reverend Benjamin Omoge has set machineries in place to make the idea come to reality on time.

Meanwhile, the biggest faction, under the leadership of Reverend Emmanuel Oshoffa is working assiduously to work with statutory government agencies in upgrading the Church seminary into a Degree awarding institution.

This will fully convert the seminary into a University. "Although, there are a lot of human and monetary effort needed to put this in place", Baba Banjo said during the announcement at the Church Christmas Convocation at Imeko, Ogun State.

As good as this University gist may sound great to the eyes of Celestians and to the ears of members, we should be quick to ask, we hope this noble idea from these two factions won't be a white elephant project, which won't see the light of the day.
