We are in the period of the adult harvest and an advice has gone out to parishes and their parishioners on the need to desist from being concerned about making money during the harvest.

This advice was given by Victor Akpojotor in article, titled Harvest in Celestial Church of Christ.

Akpojotor said most parishes have turned harvest away from God's original intent.

"We turned harvest from God's original intent. Harvest in CCC has turned to where fashion is being displayed by choosing 'aso ebi'. Harvest in CCC have turned to a business ground. It has been turned to money making era. It has been turned to a period where we appraise men for money.

"However, harvest in CCC is a reminder of how God will reap the fruit of the earth which are his people Matthew 13:24-30. At the end God will separate the GOOD SEED from the TARES." Akpojotor said.

He worried at the manner the harvest Friday night are held.

"One of the programs for the harvest week is the concert which is always held on Friday night of many parishes harvest. But unfortunately, we have turned it to another thing. It is no more a night to praise God but a night to praise men. God doesn't share His glory with anyone. Because of money.

"Many parishes do invite unbelievers like touts to grace the occasion. When it comes to singing, they will praise God for just 5min and use the remaining night to praise men.

"Harvest is not to make money but to celebrate God to the fullest. Let only God be the chairman of the occasion and not inviting chairman that is not a CCC member because of his wealth. Many even make Alhajis their chairman. Can you even imagine parish inviting Saints Janet and Pasuma.

"By all these, we have forgotten the original intent of harvest. It is a period to merry, celebrate God only and to remember the last day harvest" he advised.
