Shamseddin Giwa is an expert in relationship and marriage issues, he has used social media to pursue his passion in discussing about relationships and marriages which had helped many homes.

In the article below, he narrated why he refused to reply a harsh comment about him.

Shamseddin Giwa wrote: I had a page that had been running for a couple of years and I decided to give it a human face so after announcing, I put up my name, put up my image and continued with the same content.

It seemed like it was okay till I read a comment

"But why did you change the name of the page to this stupid thing".

I cannot explain to you how crushed I felt. I mean, was my name that repulsive?

I didn't even have the energy to delete or reply. After a few days I decided to respond and I was going to show him I had words too but when I got there, I simply typed " I am sorry you feel this way, but this "stupid thing" is my name".

Finally, I had freed myself but just as I was about to close the page, a response came;

"I am very sorry, I didn't have a clue what it meant. I am from Kenya and I assumed you were Kenyan too so it didn't even look like a name to me. I am sorry, please pardon my ignorance."

If I was following a page named Love, Life, Fam and it suddenly changed to Siphiwe Tshabalala, I might have though it strange too.

Today, the journey continues but I wouldn't have been as determined if that person had not made that comment. It could have been bad but with a calm response I corrected a misconception, educated a person, renewed belief in my goals and secured international following.

It is pretty much the same, no matter the endeavor you are starting, beginning will come with disbelief and nose - wringing but the only belief that counts is yours. It may take time and the idea may sound stupid at first, but if you keep at it persistently, you will get where you need to get.

Be nice, calm and patient but don't let anyone crush your hustle with bad words and disbelieving acts.
