Sunday, September 1st 1985, was a day where faithfuls of the fold ran helter-skelter in Ketu and other parishes, when the news broke that the car of the founder of the Church was involved in an accident.

The accident immediately claimed the life of two occupants of the vehicle. They were Evangelist Thomas and Evangelist Mark. Thomas was Samuel Bilewu Oshoffa's Personal Interpreter, while the latter, Mark was Oshoffa's Personal Camera man. The driver of the vehicle also died in the accident.

In a Facebook post, Evangelist Omotoso Oshoffa paid tributes to the deceased and looked forward to a day where all those who worked with the founder of the Church will be remembered and celebrated.

"I believe a time is coming in CCC where some Matyrs who truly served God of my father SBJ Oshoffa will be recognised.

May all their loyal Souls rest in Perfect Peace. Amen. Long live their respective Families" Oshoffa said.

Precisely 9 days after the accident, the founder of the Church SBJ Oshoffa died at a hospital on the 10th of September, 1985.

Those who survived the accident include the Personal Assistant to the founder, Evangelist Vodounou Expedit and his Personal Secretary, Superior Evangelist Godwill Abiassi. They died some years later.
