Lagos, Nigeria - As the Federal Government of Nigeria looks to bring to stop the avoidable clashes between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers in Nigeria, which has caused the senseless killing of hundreds of many innocent Nigerians, the church most senior laity, Evangelist Samuel Banjo is on record to have advised the government to quickly take necessary actions before the clashes get out of hand.

While speaking at the 13th anniversary of the anniversary of the United Aladura Churches, Worldwide, in November, 2017, Banjo who is the president of the organisation had warned against the level of high insecurity in the country.

At the event, Nigeria Tribune quoted Banjo as advising the government to “do something drastic about herdsmen/farmers clashes before it metamorphosed into a situation they can no longer handle.”

He also warned against the heating of the polity with drum of war, as war brings only destruction. “Those beating the drums of war should watch what it has brought to other countries over the years and come to understanding that war brings nothing but destruction,” he counselled.
