"What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?" - Luke 15:4, King James Version.

This piece was inspired as a result of the reactions that followed the decision of Europe Based, Prophetess Oluwatoyin Olomoplenty Obatula-Darlington to leave the fold for the Cherubim and Seraphim Church. As the news of her departure became public, some members jubilated and waved her goodbyes with invectives.

The reactions of Celestians regarding Prophetess Obatula-Darlington decision differs sharply from how other Christian denominations would react if it was their fold she left.

The waves of the reactions that greeted her departure from the church is extremely worrisome, it indicated that we are just not ready to accommodate anyone that has opposing views and the church do not have any considerate interest of her members.

If someone of Prophetess Obatula-Darlington status could leave the church without the church leadership (any of the factions) making any effort, then what will be the ordeal of ordinary and poor Celestians in various parishes, who are no longer interested in worshipping in our Church due to one reason or the other.

In other denominations, the leadership would have set up a high powered delegation to speak to her and make efforts in bringing her back, but in our case, we are happy to lose a sheep, because we still have 99 others left. This is the same situation in all our parishes over the world, except in some very hospitable parishes.

The decision of Prophetess Obatula-Darlington to leave Celestial Church can be likened to the sheep in the parable of our Lord Jesus Christ in the anchor text. However, there was no Church member nor Shepherd, talkless of Shepherds to look for the Prophetess, rather she was humiliated. This is definitely what will happen to other members of the church when they leave.

This is very unfortunate. We just must not continue this way, else we may not have 99 sheep left. Alaafia.
