The death of Reverend Alexandra Abiodun Bada resulted in the Church becoming filled with darkness says, Senior Evangelist S.O. Odeyemi.

The former Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic of the University of Lagos was quoted by Celestial Church of Christ, Monatan Provincial Headquarters Facebook page to have said this when excerpts of one of his books were posted online.

In the book titled, The Disappointment of Papa Oshoffa with Celestial Church Members - My dream, Odeyemi revealed that the era of Reverend Bada as one of the claimants of the Church's pastoral seat was an era of growth in the Church as "Bada gave room for the growth of the Word of God," Odeyemi revealed.

He exposed that the shepherds, especially the elderly ones were opposed to the idea of further learning of the word of God, through training, because the founder of the Church didn't attend one, yet Christ performed miracles through him.

"The greatest antagonists to the word of God were the Shepherds, especially the elderly ones. They said Celestial Church of Christ did not come with the study of the Bible.

"According to popular concept then, Papa Oshoffa never studied in a Seminary and yet Christ performed miracles through him. Therefore, Bible study was not necessary for the faith of Celestial Church of Christ. Despite the negative reaction of the Shepherds, the Word of God took root in the church most especially, among the younger Shepherds. Some of them were ready to go to another Christian denomination for the purpose of the study of the Word of God," Odeyemi argued.

The Octogenarian praise Bada for aiding the formation of the Church's Bible Institue and the growth of the Youth Organisation, but revealed that his death resulted in the growth of the Church.

He wrote that "He aided the formation of the Celestial Bible Institute and this spread throughout the church. Bada's period was noted for the growth of the Word of God and for the growth of the Youth Organisation.

"Summer School was established for the youths of the church. Mathematics, English Language, Religious Knowledge, Home Economics, Music and others were taught. Annual Youth Conferences were held and this lifted the spiritual life of the youths.

"The death of A.A. Bada threw the church into darkness. The darkness was total. The Church was dead and the individual members were also buried with the church. Ever since, the grave became deeper and deeper with the passage of time."
