CCC Members in Ghana

Volta Region, August 25, 2023 - The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) has issued a fervent call to Parliament, urging the expedited progression and enactment of the LGBTQ+ bill, currently under consideration within the legislative body. Evangelist Godfred Kwaku Apisawu, the Volta Regional Shepherd of the CCC, conveyed this appeal during an exclusive interview with our news team in Ave Dakpa, located within the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region. According to Evangelist Apisawu, prompt passage of the bill into law holds the potential to fortify the moral fabric of the nation.

The appeal was made in conjunction with a dynamic three-day crusade held at Ave Dakpa, coinciding with the formal inauguration of the new Ave Dakpa Parish, named the St. Paul’s Parish of the CCC. The event witnessed the convergence of CCC members from various corners of the Volta Region, rallying their support for the nascent parish that, since its inception in 2013, has experienced remarkable growth from a small congregation to its present stature.

Distinguished CCC evangelists, including Prosper Amenya of the Divine Temple Parish in Kpando, attended the event. The occasion, marked under the theme 'Our God Whom We Serve Is Able To Deliver Us…', was not only a platform for collective prayers for the nation and its leadership, but also served as a reminder to the youth to uphold virtuous conduct across all aspects of their lives.

In his interview, Evangelist Apisawu underscored the CCC's stance against foreign influences, particularly addressing the LGBTQ+ issue. Citing cultural values ingrained in Ghana and the Volta Region, as well as scriptural references from the Book of Moses, he highlighted the opposition to same-sex practices in all forms. Evangelist Apisawu emphasized the Parliament's duty to expedite the passage of the LGBTQ+ bill, stating that failure to do so would disregard the collective will of the Ghanaian populace.

Evangelist Apisawu further encouraged the youth to take charge of their destinies, cautioning against the deceptive allure of LGBTQ+ practices and urging them to anchor their salvation in their faith.

The local leader of the Ave Dakpa CCC, Joseph Kofi Dikro, reflected on the journey to establish the St. Paul’s Parish, acknowledging the challenges faced and revealing plans for constructing a chapel for the congregation. A parcel of land has already been secured for this purpose, and Dikro announced an upcoming Adult Harvest event aimed at fundraising for the chapel's realization.

Dikro's counsel to the youth resonated with that of Evangelist Apisawu, advocating adherence to Christian teachings for achieving personal triumphs while abstaining from detrimental behaviors.

Chief of Ave Dzadzefe, Torgbui Dzidenu Zoglo III, a special guest at the ceremony, urged Christians to be exemplary role models for society. He commended the efforts of Joseph Kofi Dikro and his associates, encouraging the congregation to diligently pursue their aspirations.

As the Celestial Church of Christ continues to advocate for the rapid advancement of the LGBTQ+ bill through Parliament, its leaders emphasize the alignment of this endeavor with cherished Ghanaian values and traditions. The outcome remains in the hands of the legislature, as the nation watches with anticipation for their decision.
