In a straightforward message, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa has rebuked his brother VSE Olatosho Oshoffa for the statement the latter made regarding male members of the Celestial Church of Christ wearing earrings, tattoos, and plaiting their hair. This was disclosed in a statement recently released by the Church's Media Officer, Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala.

In the statement, Ajala mentioned that the elder Oshoffa categorically denounced any action that could cast the Church in a negative light. He emphasized the Church's commitment to being a Bible Believing Church and adhering to the scriptural guidance in 1st John 2:15-16, which states, "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world."

Reverend Emmanuel, who is currently in the United States of America, was quoted as saying, "Just because society approves of something does not make it right in the eyes of God. The Bible warns against tattoos in Leviticus 19:28.... The call of God is mysterious and it comes by God’s supreme will. God has called us all into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ,” as stated in the Bible. The Almighty calls different people in different ways and for different purposes."

Furthermore, in addressing the practice of male members of the Celestial Church of Christ wearing female adornments, he cited Deuteronomy 22:5, which states, "A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this."

Therefore, the statement affirmed that the Celestial Church of Christ unequivocally does not endorse men wearing attire meant for women or vice versa. The Church also does not encourage its male members to pierce their bodies or wear tattoos.

Ajala concluded the message by stating, "Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa cautioned all clergy and laity of the church against stirring unnecessary controversies by making inflammatory statements that could incite discord among the church's leadership and members. He also referred to James 1:26, which states, 'Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.'"
