Celestians were happy and glad that for the first time in recent history of the Church, the leadership of Reverend Emmanuel Oshoffa came alive with it responsibilities by issuing an almost prompt statement denouncing the abuse and maltreatment of Korede Taiwo by his father, who is a Shepherd in the Church.

In the statement, the Church expresses that it does not condone any form of violence and it stated unequivocally that it recognizes and places high value on its youth and children. As a result of this, it is clear that Celestial Church does not support the abuse of those who are vulnerables.

As quick as one is almost ready to praise Reverend Oshoffa for this statement, one is quick to remember that a case which is similar to this, is lying somewhere in a cabinet in Ketu gathering dust.

This is the case of one Abiola Onafeko, a young female member of the Church who alleges that she was sexually harassed by Venerable Sup.Evang. Adeyinka Kingsley Olusola Kasali Hakeem. As at today, there is no single word from Reverend Oshoffa regarding this shocking allegation, as it is almost a year since this incident happened. The poor lady we hear was punished for speaking up.
Reverend Emmanuel Oshoffa must understand that in matters of this nature, silent is not golden. Sir, you must not wait to condemn the negative actions of our clergies until it gets to the mainstream media, like in the case of Prophet Taiwo who chained and starved his son, Korede.

The more you keep quite and shy away from issues of this nature, the more the remaining good name of the Church get damaged. Also, members and the general public will believe that the leadership of the Church support actions of this nature.

We are certain that those in Ketu understand the implications of this issue and many other similar ones when it get into the hands of the mainstream media. Reverend Emmanuel Oshoffa, Sir, the time to act is now.
