It's No More Cantata, It's Special Service of Songs - Professor Adetiran

The leader of the Central Choir in the Church, Professor Adetiran has advised that the Cantata ceremony should be renamed to Special Service of Songs.

The rector of the Celestial Music College made this known at the ongoing Annual Youth Conference of the Church. Before his ministration, the Professor of Music awarded Omowunmi Odeyemi and her husband certificates for completion of a music course.

Adetiran who lead the Central Choir to render various songs so as to indicate common errors Choirs make while singing the Church Hymns. He delivered a lecture on Music in Celestial Church. In his lecture he listed 5 types of music in the Church as the Orthodox, Thanksgiving, Music for the new born babies, Cantata or Choir Anniversaries and the New Moon Service.

He stated that the word Cantata was randomly agreed upon for anniversaries of the Choirs, but it should not "be called Cantata any longer, call it special service of songs" because Cantata has a different meaning.

He implored delegates, especially Choir Masters to seek more knowledge regarding the Church Hymns. "All Choir Masters must learn about ways hymns are sang" because almost day to day activities in the Church are centered the Church Hymns.
