Evangelist Raphael Oloyede
Shepherds, leaders and everyone holding leadership positions had been advised to be careful when taking decisions, as such decisions could bear ugly faces in the future if they are not well thought of.

This suggestion was given by Evangelist Raphael Oloyede while delivering the sermon for Sunday 25th September 2016 at Ile-Ileri Parish, Ijegun 2, Lagos.

Oloyede disclosed that the term, 'shepherd' as used in the first and second text of the Sunday Service does not refer to clergies only, but everyone who has other people in his or her care, such as bosses at work, parents, political leaders, choir masters and youth coordinators. Quoting Ezekiel 34:2, he said God cursed the shepherds, whom were the elders of Israel because the primary assignment they were given by God was let undone, rather they were concern about themselves.

"If God put you in a position and you fail to perform, God will remove you and bring in another person in your position. As parents, you must take care of the Children God has given to you. They are Sheep before God." he said.

The Zonal Coordinator of Zone C, Area H, Lagos State, also cautioned leaders on the need to avoid taking decisions in a haste. He advised that they should ask from God and think clearing before rushing to make decisions.

He cited that the hastiness of the elders in Israel in reaching a conclusion about the Gibeonites caused the Israelites great tribulations in years to come, especially during the reign of David.

"Like David in 2nd Samuel 21, we should put our problems before God. As shepherds, leaders, parents you need to think very well. Thinking very well also means asking God. Before you take decisions, consider the generations to come." he cautioned.

In concluding his sermon, Evangelist Raphael Oloyede stated that leaders must be Holy Spirit filled, should consult their followers before taking decisions and must be well informed about currents trends around their followers.
