Prophetess Oluwatoyin Bakare
Singles in the Church had been admonished to adequately prepare for their marriage life while they are still single.

Prophetess Oluwatoyin Bakare made this exhortation while speaking on the topic, Understanding Marriage: A Pre-requisite for Successful Relationship at the Annual Singles and Married Seminar organised by Area 'G' Youth Organisation, Lagos State.
In her ministration, the Marriage Counselor said she was disturbed by the alarming rate marriages are breaking. "Marriage is a journey, most people in it do not understand marriage. Homes are breaking at an alarming rate because people don't understand what they are in. Marriage is to fulfill certain functions, if you do not know the functions, then you will abuse it." she said.

Bakare said for this reason that every successful marriage must be well prepared for. "You must prepare for marriage while you are still single" she said.

She assured singles who are concerns about getting married not to look at the negative experiences other people have had about marriage. "Marriage is necessary and it's a gift from God. Both men and women should not look at the trouble of other people's marriage." she said.

Likewise, Prophet Kunle Hamilton who also ministered at the Seminar which is the third edition, encouraged singles to make friends with the opposite sex so as to get first hand knowledge about those they intend getting married to, but he cautioned that they must be wise about it.

He warned that being born again isn't a guarantee to happy marriage. "Ask people who married Pastors and Shepherds" he said. He advised Sisters who are ready to marry, to "look for a man that is willing to groom you and will allow God to groom him."
