Members and visitors who are quite frequent in the fold are familiar with 'ipese', the provision of snacks or meals for the entire congregation of a parish by individuals, a unit within the parish or the entire congregation.

7 Secrets and Importance of Ipese (Feast Offering) in Celestial Church by Evang Gbenga Oyeleye

'Ipese' has always become a source of blessing to both the providers and those who eat them. However as much as 'ipese' is a great idea, most parishes are not deeply concerned about how the meal should be served without rancour and how it should be enough for the congregation and visitors.

A non member once said, "This food thing ('ipese') is a nice idea, but how come you people don't know how to organise how it's served? You rush the food." Truthfully, this non member's statement is to a large extent correct, in respect to the manner meals are served in our church.

It is common to witness the shameful way 'ipese' are rushed and fought for by some members irrespective of age. This manner is wrong, disgraceful and put every member of this great church in bad light, making us look like hungry people before visitors who have come to worship in our church.

What gain is it to have only a few benefits from the meal when the congregation can eat in love and unity?

Every parish need to have a seamless and coordinated plan on how 'ipese' and other meals should be served to their parishioners and visitors, without any form of struggling. These plan should be well laid down to members of their parishioners. As Celestians, we need to be coordinated and stop disgracing ourselves when it is time to serve 'ipese'. We are not hunger people.

As a Church, we can do better, as parishes have to device ways through which "ipese" are served in an orderly manner.
