The rate and manner in which members of the church insult and condemn other members has been described as an attitude that shows how ignorance many members are about issues in the church.
This was made known by Sister Oluwatosin Adebola Francis while she was reacting to the negative and disparaging comments by members in resepct to recent pictures posted online, showing elderly women putting on purple female regalia, rather than the usual pink or yellow ones.
Sister Oluwatosin wrote:
I am not happy with the way we go about things, insulting and condemning others because of our ignorance about somethings. Even if the person is wrong, express your opinion politely.
No insults, these are people's mothers for crying out loud. How many of the people insulting these mothers can allow their mothers to be insulted like this? Is this what Celestail Church has taught us? What happened to 'iteriba Ijo mimo' or God's commandment that says we should honor our Fathers & our Mothers that our days may be long? I don't understand these kind Celestians o.
I think the best way to learn is to ask questions when something is not clear, then wait for answers from those who are knowledgeable in that aspect that you are confused about. Let us not all be hungry to press our keyboard to condemn what we know absolutely nothing about. It further shows how myopic we want to remain in our reasoning. Knowledge is broad. Lets open our mind to learning new things.
