The day this picture was released publicly on social media, it became a hot topic amongst Celestians and as usual it was all about criticism and abuses towards the elderly women who had put on the purple regalia instead of the popular yellow or pink.

However, we observed that most of those who have said negative things about those in the picture, might not have been very knowledgeable regarding what exactly is the picture about and did not bother to ask questions so as to get answers.

Thus the essence of this post: it is important to note that the church is divided among various factional heads, with about 10 known claimants of the pastoral seats.

While in Nigeria and many other countries, the pink coloured female regalia are meant for Mother In Celestial, irrespective of the faction, as a result those who belong to Ketu and Nigeria Diocese are known to put on the pink coloured regalia.

Research has it that some claimants of the pastoral seats in francophone countries, have separate colours for the title of Mothers In Celestial. It is also important to note that this post has an equivalent known as Most Superior Mother. This is the reason those in this picture are adorning the purple coloured regalia. Some other factions make use of green or blue.

Therefore, when next we see issues of this nature in our church, we should be careful before jumping to conclusions and casting aspersions. A little bit of research and an open mind will always assist us in clearing our doubts and ignorance.
