Claimants of the pastoral seat in the church are known to visit only rich parishes, while abandoning poor and dilapidated parishes, so says Folorunsho Michael.

Michael who was on the list of Celestial Church Blog’s 10 Celestians of the year in 2017, described the pastoral visit of today’s ‘pastors’ as far from how the founder of the church, Reverend SBJ Oshoffa visited parishes while he was alive. He characterised the founder’s visit to parishes as based “on spiritual, physical growth and assesment of the diocese and parishes,” but the visit of today’s pastors are based on how rich the parishes are.

“Pastoral visit cannot get to those without money to feed, house (hotel accommodation) and send the pastor forth,” Michael revealed.

Beside he added that “Papa SBJ Oshoffa visited every diocese Celestial Church of Christ is situated no matter how far it was, like Calabar 1, Upper Igun and Omolore, but today’s “pastor is flying to UK and USA but cannot visit Calabar ,Edo or Ondo state.
The action of the pastors he said has contributed to the decay and abandonment of majority of the parishes with many becoming uncompleted and dilapidated despite paying returns to the various headquarters they are loyal to, “without any emphasis on the spiritual and physical growth of the people and the church.”

“Celestial parishes are under one pastor or the other without the feeling of supernatural mighty working hand of God to shake the kingdom of darkness. Due to these lack of manifestations many youths do not understand or appreciate the fear of Celestial, many of those things have become stories ,many of them even wrongly told,” he disclosed.
