Why Celestial Church sing Jerimoyamah

You may have been wondering why the hymn Jerimoyamah is rendered as a processional and recessional hymn during devotional services. The reason has been made known by Brother Ojeikhoa Isaac in an article where he made his opinion known regarding the hymn Jerimoyamah.

In the article the former Evangelism Coordinator of Area H Youth Organisation, Lagos State, revealed that Jerimoyamah is not the name of an angel but the name of God, just like Jehovah.

“On the word Jerimoyamah, it is not on anyway the name of an Angel but a name of God. As we all know he has many names given to him by saints who had encounter with him in the time past but has a name which he gave the world himself through Moses which is Jehovah,” Ojeikhoa wrote.

He cited hymn 133 as a further prove that Jerimoyamah is God’s name. By saying “hymn 133 explains in details who Jerimoyahmah is, making us know that Jerimoyahmah is God himself, telling us an attribute of himself that he is the God who makes and fulfils promises,”

He listed three reasons Jerimoyamah is rendered at the beginning and at the end of devotional services as a way God is telling celestians that when they come to meet him they must be filled with joy. Also that in God’s presence, there is fullness of joy and that the joy God have given out during the service should go with those at the service.

Ojeikhoa advised members of the church to cast away their burden whenever they attend devotional services because they are before God who is able to take away whatever burden before them and replace it with unlimited joy.
