In the era where discipline and forthrightness is paramount for Christians, a shepherd once demoted a congregant from the rank of a senior leader to that of an elder brother due to his involvement in a fraudulent act at his place of work.
Narrating how the event transpired, Superior Prophet Leader Leo Jerry mentioned that the event took place in the 80s’ when Baba Arobadi was the shepherd in charge of Celestial Church of Christ Canal Parish.
Jerry recalled that the senior member of the parish was suspended from work due to his involvement in fraudulent activities. “I remember very well when he came to narrate his predicament to our shepherd”, Jerry wrote in a Facebook post.
Jerry added that the Shepherd, Baba Arobadi asked the congregant if he was guilty. “My shepherd asked him categorically if he is guilty, he said yes, and he naturally blamed the devil.
“My shephard asked him to stay in the mercyland for 3 days and beg for forgiveness of sin, and he should abstain from taking the sermon for 6 months.” Jerry revealed.
He added that, the elder was demoted from the position of a “senior leader to onibode immediately and should partake in cleaning the church fully till further notice. My shepherd used to counsel him every now and then about living right and living within one’s means.”
Prophet Jerry made this revelation against the backdrop of a recent discussion he had with a shepherd, while requesting the occupation of the patron of the shepherd’s parish. He said he was taken aback when the shepherd replied with “my patron is yahoo.”
