In the book, “The Theory and Practice of Celestialism” former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor S.O Odeyemi attributed the division and malpractice in the church to the operation of false prophets.

This was revealed by Odeyemi in a question and answer segment published in the book. The highly respected General Youth Coordinator of the Church declared that, “suppose all prophets in Celestial Church prophesy the right ways, there will be only one united house.






“The division we have today is attributed to the operation of false prophets. Many have left Celestial Church of Christ because the activities of false prophets have scared them away.” In the book which was coauthored with Evangelist Adewale Shittu, Odeyemi warned that the negative impact of false prophets will continue to affect the church if nothing is done to correct them.

When he was asked about the possible solutions to the menace of false prophets in the church, Odeyemi advised that the prophets are to trained and schooled in the fundamental principles of the word of God, the study of the prophetic ministry in the Old and New Testaments, the principles of sanctification and holy living, engage in fasting.
