A question by Adefowora Yomi has sparked debate on Facebook after asking if the doctrine of Celestial Church allows for revival during Sunday services. Adefowora’s Post has however generated into a debate on the Facebook Group, CeleGen as Celestians are sharing diverse opinion on the matter.

While some members are in support of revival during Sunday service, others are of the opinion that it is not right.

“That's why people are leaving Celestial for other churches that prays very well. See Celestial of olden days is still the same if the doctrines are still followed. Our 3 ‘members prayer and silent prayer ‘aren't enough. You need to pray fervently and see why God won't listen to you. . . . . You have to pray nowadays fervently. Try this revival after the sermon for 3 Sundays and see the miracle of God,” says Prophet Elijah Ojeleye.

However, other users disagreed with his opinion. One of such is Olu Alaba Palmer. He was of the opinion that, “it is a borrowed culture and one would have expected them to add 40 days fasting to it as it is being done in other churches.”

Palmer’s opinion was supported by Ogunsilu Samuel Oluwakemi, who said “all was copied from the pentecostal churches, the order of service has been carefully and specially prepared by God for Celestial Church as guidance but some people have deviated from it, o mase o, you now see preachers this days leaving the pulpit and jumping round the four corners of the church, all na eye service.”

However, Awhanse Jacob was of the opinion that the introduction of such prayer is a way of drawing youth to the church. “I think is one of ways to welcome youths to the church, but it should be in a normal ways,” he wrote.
