A developing parish

The lack of appreciation for those who helped in growing a parish from when it was uncompleted to when it is fully completed and beautiful has been identified as the reason the majority of members do not attend these parishes, says a member Afolalu Ayokanmi Emmanuel.

The post which initiated Afolalu's comment was by Shepherd's Court which says,

"Even if your LOCAL CHURCH is still with WOOD, sitting on a BENCH and just 5 in numbers. CHERISH IT."

"Tell the church owner also to cherish those who stood by them when the church building was ugly. That's why people no wan suffer with any shepherd again," was Afolalu's first comment.

While commenting further, he claimed he was once a victim but he does not regret all the efforts which made him a victim.

He wrote: "I am also a victim...You can't work for God and regret it… We all know that God is the rewarder but still pastors should learn to appreciate those that stood by them when they have nothing. The idea of use and dump is why majority prefer not to suffer with any pastor again."

Another Christian, Olasunkanmi Lawal agrees with Afolalu's assertion.

"U are certainly right. Am equally a victim of such but I never regret working for God as God is been faithful. (I) Am happy (that I) am part of Christ suffering not man."

This is mostly true as even the Church leadership irrespective of faction do avoid going to parishes which have "poor buildings." Every high profile claimant of the pastor seat in the Church does avoid these parishes, but prefer visiting the rich and beautiful parishes.
