How only 4 members of a parish in the US are planning to remove a shepherd supported by the majority

The dirty nature of politics and infighting in the Church has raised its ugly head in a parish in Illinois, United States of America.

The arrival of the Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa visit to the country was supposed to be chaos free, but unfortunately the first case of the hostility has been witnessed with the leader-in-charge of Great Oshoffa Parish 4100N, Troy Street, Illinois, USA, Superior Evangelist Olusegun Max Solomon accusing 4 persons of initiating his removal as spiritual head of the parish.

In a letter addressed to one of the Head of Dioceses in the country, Solomon appealed that his purported removal is unwarranted and unjust as those planning to remove him are discontented members of the parish, whose accounts are inimical to the growth of the parish and the Church.

He mentioned that those who were seen in a video claiming to be representatives of the parish in New York, where Reverend EMF Oshoffa announced Superior Evangelist Benjamin Oshoffa as the leader of the parish do not represent the parish.

"All the people that could be visibly seen kneeling before the pastor do not and did not represent our parish and definitely do not and did not speak for our parish," Solomon mentioned in the letter.

He added that "Again, the Pastor has been lied to, misled and misinformed. These people were not there to do any lawful or authorized bidding of our parish and they definitely do not represent and have not represented the wishes of our parish", stressing that the parish has been witnessing peace since he took over as the leader of the parish, because those who wanted him removed have stayed away from the parish.

Solomon therefore appealed to V/S/E Balogun to ensure that the injustice being planned to be activated against him and the parish does not stand, as he was just appointed as the leader of the parish in July, 2022 and he has the support of majority of the Church stakeholders.

Unfortunately, the ordeal of Superior Evangelist Olusegun Max Solomon is not usual in the Church, mostly especially those dominated by Nigerians, as it is common for a minority who are commonly backed by powerful forces outside the parish to instigate the removal of a shepherd based on sentiments which are generally not in the interests of the parish and the Church.
