One of the pastoral claimants in the Church, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa has appealed to members of the Church to desist from making use of the social media platforms to castigate the leadership of the Church when there are cases of wrongdoing.

Reverend Emmanuel mentioned this through a press statement released by Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala on Tuesday. "Channels have been created for complaints and reports to reach the Church administration" faithful are advised not to make "hasty generalisation on the internet and social media, to the embarrassment of the Church as a whole.

Furthermore, Ajala assured Celestians that steps are being taken to ensure that all reported cases of anomalies in the Church are investigated thoroughly and discreetly by the appropriate Church organs in order to identify and punish the culprits where necessary.

Ajala listed all the recent cases of anomalies in the Church, but refused to specifically mention the recent case of the report by Fisayo Soyombo's investigative report regarding prophecy in the International Headquarters, Ketu.

"Such cases include the unauthorised anointment of Church members into the Church ranks by certain Shepherds of the Celestial Church of Christ, the alcohol consumption saga at the Idunnu Joshua Parish, Lagos, and the unauthorised adornment of the rank of Venerable Superior Evangelist by Superior Evangelist Abraham Ade Aniyeloye of Hephzibah Parish, Cairo, Egypt, amongst others, part of the statement read.

Concerned members of the Church are worried that the issues raised in the report by the journalist may be swept under the carpet. Such concern was raised by Prince Tosin Abegunde in an article seen by Celestial Church Blog.

Abegunde noted that Soyombo's investigative report "is not a true representation of the Church. However, it is a true representation of evils perpetrated by the 'children of darkness' in the Church."

He advised that pressure must be exerted on the authorities of the Church in order not  to "just sweep this story under the carpet just like that. Let there be a follow up.... This story cannot just rest like that, we must fan the embers of revelation for.more pointer to what needs to be corrected in the Church system."
