sermon on commitment to service that attracts reward
Enigbokan Omosehin

To God be the glory, honour and adoration for His faithfulness. The text for the week is Mark 10: 28-31. Our topic is Commitment that attracts reward.

The first point to note in the passage is outstanding commitment for the gospel. And not that one should forsake or abandon his family. Those that lack good understanding of this verse don't relate well with their families because of their "born again" status.

A genuine commitment to Christ and the gospel should be devoid of any form of distractions. A servant cannot serve two masters at the same time.

Verses 29 and 30 has the record of Christ promise of the reward for whoever is able to remain faithfully committed to the gospel till the end of age.

Because of the end of age of man, we tend to focus on the benefits of being a "committed" fellow to the gospel and consciously or unconsciously neglecting our role as a Christian and a member of the body of Christ.

In conclusion, Brethren, to be committed is biblically approved but we need to gather knowledge about the concept of commitment in order not to waste our energy and time ignorantly. Remain blessed in the Lord.
