The title of the text according to NIV is " The Faith of the Centurion". His (the centurion) response when Christ agreed to go and heal his servant made Jesus Christ astonished. v 7-10.
Jesus Christ said to those following him, " I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith".
The attributes of the great faith exhibited by the centurion and faith as a biblical concept include the following:
1. The exercise of faith is not restricted to the "subjects of the kingdom" - believers. Matthew 8v11-12.
2. Faith hangs on the absolute trust of a person's ability to perform a task.
3. Faith grows in direct proportion of our knowlegde of God. Romans 10v17.
4. Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrew 11v1.
5. Faith count things as though they have already happened. Romans. 4v17.
6. Faith live by the word of God. 2 Cor. 5v7; Romans. 10v17.
7. Obedience to God's commandments is a great factor and attribute of faith. Exodus.19v5; Leviticus 18v4;Deutronomy 4v1-2; John 14v15,23,24.
