1. Wearing of Dirty Garments.
No matter how clean the garment (Sutana) you wear, there is a good number of Celestians who wear garments which are very dirty and unkempt in the public. They wear them to market, Church etc. This must stop, as it gives the Church a negative image. If we must ever wear dirty garments, it must be within the precinct of the Church premise. Also, it is will not be bad if we do press (iron) our garments before we wear them. Did I hear someone saying where is the electricity to iron?
2. Careless Statement and Uncultured Attitude In Public Places.
This attitude is very common among members of the Church, so said Ade, who is a non-member. Another non-church who narrated how he was disgusted by uncouthly attitude of some members of the Church while they were on their way for the Christmas Convention in Imeko.
He explained that some member of the Church were very boisterious in the public bus they were in. He told them that “You people are not behaving like Christians. You are going to meet God, in Imeko yet, you are all busy making statements which are not to be heard from Christians.” He said he got the shocker of his life, when they shouted at him, telling him to keep quiet.
These set of Church members above, had negatively painted the Church in bad light with their attitude. As members of the Church, we need to seriously caution ourselves when in Public.
3. Unnecessary Argument In The Public.
In the last quarter of 2015, an elderly female member of the Church, probably in her mid-fifties was seen and heard cursing a driver of a public bus. Yes! She was invoking heavy curses, due to a minor misunderstanding which occurred in the bus between the driver and another passenger. There she was putting on her garment and raining maledictions. If you were in the bus, how would you feel?
4. Sexual Recklessness.
Do you remember the popular picture which shows a male and female member of the Church engaging in sexual activities in 2012. We were all angry when the picture got to the internet, but sincerely in our minds, we do know that some members of the Church are so free and do behave recklessly which it comes to sexual matter.
It’s common to see Church elders with more than one wife or engaging in sexual relationship with other Church members and no one dare complain. Anyone who complains is seen as an enemy. Most non-members think Celestians are Sexual Perverts, as a result of reckless attitude of some members.
A Nairaland user said this about the Church because a member might has hurt her feelings, "Everything is wrong with this church, OR AT LEAST MANY OF THE MEMBERS WHO CLAIM TO BE FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST. The men are nasty dogs..............they cheat on their wives and play with the emotions of unsuspecting young girls/adults."
5. Wrong Display of Spiritual Item.
Our Church is a spiritual Church, but we must learn how to display spiritual items when we want to make use of them. It is wrong to display candle remnant (a jo ku Imole) in the public. Such items are meant for your bags or pockets not to be displayed recklessly. Candle remnant will look strange to any non-celestians and would be quick to call it charm.
