It gladden my heart to welcome you to the new episode of my sermon on Celestial Church Blog. I supplicate the Lord for the grace of abiding in Him till the end of the age. The text for the sermon is Phil. 2v 1-11. The topic is "Imitating Christ's Humility ".
To IMITATE means to follow as a model or a pattern; to make a copy, counterpart or semblance of. HUMILITY refers to the characteristic of being humble; humbleness in character and behaviour.
Brethren, let us consider some Bible verses about humility and act accordingly in agreement with the topic.
1. For even the son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10v 45.
2. Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for " God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble ". 1 Peter 5 v 5.
3. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble His way. Ps 25v9.
My dear reader, are you humble? Check with the following features of humility.
1. The humble are patient and don't get frustrated with the weakness of others. Gal. 6v2.
2. The humble person is a peacemaker. Rom. 12v16.
3. A humble person knows when to be quite.
4. The humble can always ask for help, and they do not insist on everything being done their way.
5. Humble people are quick to forgive others, difficult to offend, and content to wait on God for vindication when they have been wronged.
6. A humble person sees their own weaknesses and can readily admit them.
7. A leader who is truly humble treats everyone with respect.
8. A humble person is very thankful.
9. A humble person happily serves other people, and they don't do it to be seen.
10. A humble person has a tender conscience and is quick to repent.
Examine yourself with these facts. Shalom.
