The need for proper mentoring and monitoring of members of a congregation in any parish is one of the real concept of the gospel as practised by the early apostles.

This was made known by Brother Enigbokan Omosehin, our in house sermoner for Friday service.

Omosehin asserted that although the early apostles focused on preaching and spreading gospel, still they have more than that as their target.

"The main focus of the early apostles was to preach and spread the gospel. Their target was far beyond winning individual souls for Christ" he said.

He pointed out that one cannot be a Christian without mentoring and monitoring people.

"The gospel truth is that one should not claim to be a christian without having a good number of people he/she is mentoring and monitoring.

"It is quiet unfortunate that it is few poeple 'Christians' in our generation that understand and apply the real concept of the gospel.

"Most christians now pay more attention to prosperity, position, power etc."

He advised Christians on the need to emulate the monitoring pattern of Apostle Paul as stated in 1 Corinthians 4:17

"The monitoring pattern of Apostle Paul is worthy of emulation. He sent a senior disciple (Timothy) to his congregation of disciples in the Corinth."
