Halleluyah! The text for the week is 1 Cor. 4:14-21. The topic is " Gospel Parenting".

The message/letter of Apostle Paul to the Corithians through Timothy is the focus for the week. Apostle refered to himself as the father (Gospel) of the Corithians. His parenting role in the gospel qualified him for this unique title. 1 Cor. 4:15.

The main focus of the early apostles was to preach and spread the gospel. Their target was far beyond winning individual souls for Christ. They targeted communities and nations. For instance, Philip established the first church in Samaria. Acts 8:5-13; Lk 4:16-21; Mk 1: 14; Mt 11: 2-5.

It is quiet unfortunate that it is few poeple "Christians" in our generation that understand and apply the real concept of the gospel. Most christians now pay more attention to prosperity, position, power etc. The gospel truth is that one should not claim to be a christian without having a good number of people he/she is mentoring and monitoring.

The monitoring pattern of Apostle Paul is worthy of emulation. He sent a senior disciple (Timothy) to his congregation of disciples in the Corinth. 1 Cor. 4:17.

In conclusion brethren, to maintain the standard of Christianity, there is the need to uphold the concept of discipleship. Matt. 5:1; 8:21, 23, 25.

Yours in the hope of his second coming.
