As members of the folks prepare to gather at Imeko, one of the church's historic landmarks for the annual Christmas Convention, a call has gone out to the leadership of the church to stop members from making the tomb of the founder of the church, Rev SBJ Oshoffa as an a monument they worship.

This advice was made known by a statement released by one of the ministries in the church, the Global Mandate to Liberate Evangelical Ministry.

In the statement, the ministry said "out of ignorance, the monumental tomb of our great Oshoffa has become a snare to the majority of the members of this great Church. They are playing harlot with it."

The ministry was of the opinion that many members have neglected the altar of the God at the International Headquarters of the church, rather they bow down for the tomb in worship, as they have forgetting that bowing down for worship solely belongs to God.

Making use of the issues which are related to such in the Bible, the statement explained that "the angel of God told John in Rev 19:10 and Rev 22:9, when he attempted to bow down for him; that he should worship God only. Do you remember Paul's reaction at Ephesus when they want to bow worship him because he did only what God can do."

The Global Mandate to Liberate Evangelical Ministry therefore, implored the authority of the church "to do something fast so that it won't be snare to them like that of Gideon, when people turned an ephod made by Gideon into an object of worship after his death. Stop doing that at this year Imeko gathering, for it attracts a death penalty, both physical and spiritual."
