As the year 2017 is folding up it sleeves, we have named 10 distinguished individuals, ministries, organisations as Celestians of the year. This year's list differs from that of 2016, due to the increase in the number of those who made the list. While 8 Celestians were on the list last year, 10 made it this year.

Only two group made the list this year, against 5 from the previous year. They are the Luli Concert and the CCCYMS. The latter made the list for effectively transformed the youth ministry of the church into a different dimension. Luli Concert was the biggest and the most discussed event of the church in the year under review.

The trio of Ayodeji Bi-ala, Liz Ebony Angel and Fisayo Joel made the list for their expository articles about the church. Also included in the list is the Alonge Michael, the Publisher of Celestial News Online, CNO. In 2017, Alonge fearlessly assisted in shaping major discussions issues in and around the church.

The list also included the late visioner and founder of the Maranatha Pavilion Ministeries International, Doctor Omololu Oladosu. When the death of late Omololu Oladosu was made public, the Social Media was filled with eulogies by both Celestians and non members testifying to how he how touched their lives.

Also the trio of Superior Evangelist Pius Olarewaju, Folorunsho Michael and Israel Oladele completed those who made the list. The Chairman of the building committee, Pius Olarewaju for the Imeko cathedral, was on the list due to the effort he and his committee put up in ensuring the near completion of the project after many years of neglect.

In terms of ideology, Folorunsho and Oladele are two opposite sides. While the latter is a liberal who believes in a liberalised doctrines for the church, Folorunsho is a total conservative, whose stance is that the doctrines of the church must be intact as the founder of the church, SBJ Oshoffa was given.
