Many people may be wondering what exactly is the role of the family of the founding pastor of the church, Rev SBJ Oshoffa in ensuring the unification of the church. In a report published by the Celestial Church of Christ Youth Must Survive, CCCYMS, it was revealed how the family of Oshoffa worked assiduously to ensure that the church remains unified under the leadership of one shepherd and pastor.

According to CCCYMS, the report was written in April 13th, 2002 by the first daughter of the Rev SBJ Oshoffa, who narrated events which took place and actions taken by the family to ensure they protect the legacies laid down by their patriarch.

The report chronicled how misunderstanding started over the appointment of the Pastor for church between Supreme Evangelist A.A. Bada and Superior Evangelist Benoit Agbaossi after the demise of SBJ Oshoffa. "The church was divided into 3 groups: - one group supporting Baba Bada – another one supporting Baba Agbaossi - a third group decided to be neutral, working to perpetuate the work of Papa Oshoffa and continue the evangelisation." the report established. However, the report was silent on the role of Reverend J.K Owodunni in this issue.

Despite this, "the Oshoffa family made every attempt to reconcile the group Bada and the group Agbaossi hoping to link the Church, but each group remained firm on its position.

"After the transition of Baba Bada, the family and some elders of the Church decided to travel to London to meet Baba Ajose, to appeal to him to use his position as the next high ranking minister under Baba Bada to reconcile the Church. Unfortunately Baba Ajose answered us that everyone has an ambition.

"We did not realise that Baba Bada, not wanting reconciliation after him, had named Superior Evangelist P.H.Ajose, leader of the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide and Baba Jesse Head of Nigeria Diocese of CCC."

Despite the resistance face by the family in unifying the factional heads, the family continued to make efforts to unite the various groups, however, each time it seems that progress was made, a new event brings set back.

The report established that the family cannot and does not intend to be with one group against the other. Also they do not give support to any faction against the other, but to support whoever is ready and eager to work for one and indivisible Celestial Church of Christ. "We want love to be our priority." the report substantiated.
