The newly built cathedral
On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, the Deeper Life Bible Church unveiled an ultra modern worship centre which has the capacity to accommodate 36,000 worshippers. This feat is highly commendable and the founder and General Superintendent of the Church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi deserves some accolades.

It may interest anyone to know that Kumuyi who was once a lecturer at the University of Lagos and was also once an active member of Celestial Church of Christ, and in some extent, was greatly inspired by the founder of Celestial Church of Christ, Reverend SBJ Oshoffa. There is no publicly known data to ascertain what year he left and why he left the fold.






Accord to The Sun, the cathedral is a "multi-million naira edifice with modern roofs and classy seats said to be imported from France, central air-conditioning and central sewage disposal systems, to create maximum comfort for worshippers, was built by the Italian construction company, Cappa D’Alberto."

Then how come did a man who left this church about 45 years ago, and is able to completely finish a building that will comfortably seat tens of thousands of worshippers in less than 15 years and our church has not be able to complete the building of its cathedral at the world wide headquarters of the church in Imeko, Ogun State since 30 years ago.

It is common for some members to provide indefensible excuses for the incompletion of the Imeko Cathedral, but the feat by Kumuyi's Deeper Life should teach and gear us up to ensure that we work and put all hands on deck to ensure that the Cathedral is expanded, fully completed and highly conducive for members.

Truth be told, Oshoffa will be proud of his protégé in person of Pastor Kumuyi, but will he be proud of us all and in particular those who are in charge of the affairs of the Church?
