In a sermon titled The Convenant of God, Superior Leader Debo Magbagbeola opined that most Christians are like Jonah who are avoiding the duties God has instructed them to perform.

While delivering the sermon at CCC Ile Ileri (Ijegun 2) today, Magbagbeola explained that clergymen are not the only one who engage in God's work, saying those in other occupations are also working for God due to the fact that the work they are engaged in, is to the benefit of humanity.

He observed that there are special convenants that goes along the assignments God has given to everyone irrespective of the occupation they are in and these assignments must be done diligently for the glory of God and the over all good of the society.
Magbagbeola reasoned that 1 Corinthians 1:25, which noted that although the convenants God have made with us might look foolish or weak, but they are they are wiser and stronger than whatever plan we have for ourselves, therefore christians must follow in the footsteps of Joseph, who was not in hurry to succeed while he was facing tribulations.

He advised christians not to be hasty in seeking to ensure that the convenants of God come to fulfill, as been hasty may result to engaging in sinful acts, which may cause the convenants not to come to fulfilment.
