Prophet Ogundipe

The Shepherd in Charge of Genesis Global, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe has described the lacked of enough attention to the plight of 16-year old Leah Sharibu, who was kidnapped alongside 111 other female students of Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, Nigeria by Boko Haram insurgents on February 19, 2018 as unfortunate.

Leah’s abductors had refused to release her while her colleagues were let go some month after, because she refused converting to Islam from Christianity as one of the conditions for her release.

According to Daily Independent Ogundipe in an event, described the behaviour of the two umbrella bodies of Nigerian Christians, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria as lacking zeal in demanding the Government of Nigeria to expedite action in securing her release.

“I am pained that Leah Sharibu has spent over 500 days in captivity, yet leading church leaders are quiet. I am pained that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) are not in Abuja, marching for the release of Leah.” the Lagos-based Shepherd said.
He advised CAN and PFN to exert the same energy used in responding to the allegation of rape raised against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the COZA Church by Busola Dakola to that of Leah’s ordeal, because she has done what many pastors won’t do.

“So much energy has been dissipated in recent weeks over the COZA controversy but no word is being said about Leah, who did what many pastors cannot do. In the face of AK-47, she didn’t deny Jesus. Now is when our voices should be strong in pressing for her release and not be competing among ourselves who is building the biggest cathedral in town.” Ogundipe noted.
