Choir members during service

It is common knowledge that the Spirit of God leads in Celestial Church of Christ, but this statement seems to have been eroded in respect to when parishes end their devotional services. This was the thoughts of members in a discussion on whether the Spirit of God is responsible in making parishes end their devotional services late.

In the discussion, it was noted that as much as the Spirit of God do ensure that members have memorable and blessed presence with God, it is considerate and not responsible for ending of services late.

“Drill it down, you'll find out that it's not the Spirit that direct us to be late. Most of the time we are poor and unwise when it comes to managing time.” says Omotayo Zech Onigbanjo.

In his opinion, Samdat Moyes argues that “Time is very important but what makes our service to be longer than usual are irrelevances such as ‘Afikun Ifilo’ (extra announcement), Choristers abnormality; singing without caution especially during thanksgiving.“
Also making his opinion known on the matter, Ayantuga Soji, said “What I can say is that the Holy Spirit is not the one delaying us in most cases but the order of service and at times we are the one delaying ourselves with irrelevant issues.”

Samayi Whensu advised that “Let's do the right thing and stop fooling one another with the clause 'as the spirit directs.’” He maintained that discipline at all levels is required in order for services to end early.

“Service conductor should be brief in his prayers. 3 elders' prayers should be said as spelt out by the conductor. The sermoner should prepare his message before the sermon and not when he mounts pulpit
All offertory should not be more than 3 times,” he added.
