At 74 Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku is the only member of Celestial Church of Christ who uses the title of a Cardinal, a title that is exclusively used by those who are next in rank to the Pope of the Catholic Church.






In an interview with The Sun, Odunmbaku maintained that the title Cardinal is not meant for only Catholics, as “No particular appellation or title or designation is reserved for a particular religion.” he replied when he was asked why he made use of the title of a Cardinal.

Furthermore, he also revealed in the interview that no razor has ever touched his hair because of the prophecy foretold before he was born. Odunmaku said, “I’m a Nazarene of God and razor has not touched my head since I was born. . . . . God taught me His words and He gave me prophetic utterances. I know the difference between sleeping and dreaming, I know what God wants and what He says I should say.

“Deuteronomy 18 vs 20 says: If God did not say something and you said it, you will die. I’m very much aware of that, so I listen to his voice with rapt attention and I deliver same message without fear and has always come to pass. I’m born as a prophet of God and I’m still in his vineyard, regardless of my shortcomings, which God knows, that I’m not clean.  I didn’t say I’m 100 percent clean, because whoever arrogates that to himself is a dead person. But God is there to erase all our shortcomings and make us whole and pure.”
