The imbroglio behind the crisis happening in Celestial Students' Parish of Tai Solarin University in Ogun State has been attributed to how the task force in Ijagun area of Ijebu, Ogun State took powers into their hands by harassing the Shepherd of the Students' Parish, Superior Evangelist Emmanuel Akaba.

On January 13th, the task force team led by the General Superintendent of Ijebu land, Venerable Superior Evangelist J.O Oladobe invaded the parish and assaulted Akaba.

In videos seen online regarding the event which occurred on the fateful day, Akaba was seen to have been hit at least twice by a man with a huge frame in an attempt to forcefully evict him from the parish. The huge man was heard calling Superior Evangelist Emmanuel Akaba a bastard and threatened to send him to jail.

A clergy of the Church, Revd Oluwasegun David Awonoussy condemned the attempt to forcefully evict Akaba. He described the video in which the shepherd was attacked by clergies and ordinary members as embarrassing. "This Video doesn't speak well of Mostly Clergies who turned themselves to Thugs in Collaboration with Ordinary member ( beating a Shepherd) without any offence just cuz he has Stayed longer in a Parish which the Entire Students are still enjoying his Support,

"The Shepherd was dragged out without cloth from his room till someone gave him white Singlet to put on... All in the name of getting rid of him from the said Parish by force and to replace him with another Shepherd whom they can dictate to," Awonoussy wrote in an article seen on Facebook.

Also, the Alumni of the Students Parish condemned the actions of the task force. In a letter to Reverend Emmanuel Oshoffa, the alumni body described the nature of the assault on Akaba and the students as demonic barbaric, unchristianly, inhumane and heartless because the Shepherd who had served for more than 20 years has been faithful, without ever being charged for any financial or sexual immoral impropriety that could tarnish the Church's image.
