Below is an event that tells about what transpired between the founder of the Church, Reverend Pastor Samuel Beliwu Oshoffa, and witches and wizards in the village of Agonguè, in Benin Republic. The story was narrated by Venerable Superior Evangelist Lahis Joseph. The story is narrated below;

In the village of Agonguè, witches and wizards organized themselves in such a way that they exploited villagers at will by hurling bad luck at them, stop healing them, or giving them back their health after receiving items for sacrifice (corn bag, baskets of cassava, goat, chicken, duck etc... ) or cash, depending on the gravity of the evil they suffered.

However, Oshoffa has settled near this village while engaging in the profession of woodwork alongside the work that Jehovah had entrusted to him to do.

Thus, the enchanted people and the sick approached him and found healing. This displeased all the witches and wizards of the village with their leader commonly called the Great Bird Azila decided to destroy the one who, by his miraculous healing, deprived them of the resources they receive from those they have tormented with sickness and sufferings.

Therefore they fixed a date to deal and destroy Oshoffa. One morning while the founder of the Church was at the place where he does his woodwork and occasionally prays for the sick, he noticed that only a few people had come to be prayed for.

A few hours later, there came the sound of gongs and incantation chants. With the coven of witches with amulets and human bones approaching where Oshoffa was; among them were the seven most feared witches of Agongue.

However, Oshoffa was calm and did not react to what was going on despite chanting incantations and casting voodoo on him.

Soon, the head of the witches and wizard came towards the founder of the Church confidently intending to hit him with a charm, but Oshoffa said, "Man has no power on this earth, and the Jehovah always fight for His own, as He did for the children of Israel against Pharaoh. May the glory of the Lord manifest here and now."

Before Oshoffa could finish his statement, a mysterious rope came down from nowhere and tied both legs of the leader of those who came to attack the founder and placed him upside down near the branch of a tree. He was held there for seven days and nights.

With fear, the rest of Oshoffa's assaulters took to their heels. Oshoffa proceeded to knee; prayed and thanked the God who came to fight for him, and to show once again that the forces of darkness cannot overcome the heavenly forces.
