We do correct SBJ Oshoffa whenever he says the Church belongs to him - Baba Ola Oyewusi

The founder of Celestial Church of Christ, Reverend Pastor Samuel Bilewu Oshoffa, was always queried whenever he made any statement claiming that the Church belongs to him, says Reverend Ola Oyewusi.

The Reverend made this known in a sermon delivered this Sunday at Messiah Parish, Mushin, Lagos.

The clergy who followed Oshoffa in his lifetime and also served as secretary to late Reverend Alexander Abiodun Bada argued that the problem of the Church was created by its founding elders.

He asserted that the founder always ascertains that the Church belongs to God and every member of the Church, thus no evil will prevail over the Church.

But the nonagenarian confirmed that in some instances, Oshoffa does make statements such as "my church" therefore claiming ownership of the Church, but he is always confronted by those who are close to him that he has previously said the Church doesn't belong to him.

Oyewusi noted that whenever Oshoffa is faced with such a query, he was never annoyed, as he will quickly apologize and reassure members that the Church doesn't belong to him, but God and every member is free to see the Church as theirs.

In the sermon he also advised Church workers to avoid being promiscuous, should stick to one wife, avoid greed, and be just and calm in their dealings with members of the congregation as advised by Apostle Paul in Titus chapter 1: 6-9.
